Day 2 Part 1:  Sea Day

While planning this cruise, Brian and I decided we wanted one dinner together, just the two of us.  So we made a dinner reservation at Palo, the adults-only restaurant.  There is an upcharge of $20 per person, but based on our experience at Palo on the Dream, we knew it would be totally worth it.

Our reservation was at 6 p.m., and I had Alyssa scheduled in the nursery from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. so that we wouldn't be rushed.

We were the second couple in the restaurant and we got a table by the window.

Our server's name was Sylvester.  He was excellent and so passionate about the menu.  We started with mozzarella and tomato...

I also had this salad...

While Brian had fried calamari.

For my entree, I ordered the lobster ravioli.  It is DIVINE!

Brian had a steak.  Sylvester also brought us a small plate of gnocchi to try, and it was out of this world!  We are so glad he brought it.

For dessert, we each had the chocolate souffle, which is what Palo is known for.  Sylvester also brought us a tiramisu to share.  I'm not a huge fan of tiramisu, but this one was so excellent that I think I enjoyed it more than the souffle.

Palo is a nice change from the main dining rooms because it is so quiet and relaxing.  The food and service are awesome.  It was nice to have some alone time with Brian.

Nana decided to take the two boys with her to the main dining room, which this night was Parrot Cay.  The boys went to the bathroom by themselves, so I'm told, and didn't come back for a long time.  She had to go out searching for them.  Eric, our assistant server, also kept the boys entertained with a few magic tricks.

After leaving Palo, Brian met Nana and the boys in a lounge for another show by the ventriloquist.  I picked up Alyssa from the nursery and we came back to some towel animals in our cabins.

I forgot to ask the nursery if Alyssa ate anything they offered her for dinner down there, so I gave her a snack before getting her to bed.

A while later, everyone else came back from the ventriloquist show.  The boys, especially Nathan, raved about it.  In fact, they are still talking about it.

When everyone else came back to get ready for bed, I was able to sneak out and take some photos of the ship at night.

I took some picture of Beat Street, which is the adult nightclub district.  The theming is really cool, but hard to capture in photos.

Our first sea day went by so quickly. We never made it to see the main show or any movies.

Up next: Cozumel and Pirate Night
