2012 Goals Update

It's the end of February and I bet you all probably think that my 2012 Goals have all gone by the wayside. Nope! I'll update you one one of them: Declutter/Organize one area once a month.

Ok, this was really more of Brian's goal, and he did a great job at organizing our home office last month. But one area that really needed to be organized was our bedroom closet. And the mess was mostly my fault, so I took on this task. And I finished it within the month of February (with 2 days to spare).

The closet in our master bedroom was one of the things we liked most when we were contemplating buying this house. It's about twice as big as the closet in our old house.

Brian didn't think I'd have the guts to show a "before" picture..but here it is.

Before:

Where's the floor? Covered with clothes and other stuff. We still had an un-opened moving box in there (it's been almost 2 years since we moved here!)

I went through everything, got more laundry baskets to organize, and packed up 5 big bags to take to Goodwill.

After:

Such a good feeling of accomplishment.

100 Days!

We are 100 days away from the day we leave for our WDW/Disney Cruise vacation!

Finally!

Paper Dreams

It's kind of a cloudy, cold day and I haven't felt like taking the kids outside. This weather also makes me think of how I'm longing for our summer vacation in the sunny Bahamas! So I've had this activity in my back pocket and decided to pull it out today:

The paper Disney Dream cruise ship.

Both boys got involved in the making of the ship. We actually made two, but the quality of our second ship significantly deteriorated based on the fact that my youngest child woke up from her nap.

We even made the Castaway Cay diorama background for the ship to play in:

Voila! Two paper Disney Dreams. (Ok, if you want to get technical, these are actually models of Disney's two classic ships, The Wonder and The Magic...but for our purpose I'm calling them The Dream).

My son asked me if we could take these on our vacation. And I thought to myself, I'll be surprised if these paper ships last until the end of the day! They are paper, after all!
